Entering the busy times and the holiday times (possibly also the end times)

It's been a couple of hectic weeks in the Ford household.

(Disclaimer: I did not create the poster you're looking at to your right.  I am grateful to Small Rituals for making it, but I will tongue-in-cheekily encourage their graphic design team to use one or two fewer fonts in future posters.)

I have, as you well know, a jam-packed performance schedule on the docket for the upcoming weeks - this Friday I'm at the British Ex-Servicemen's Association on Kingsway at 9PM; next week I'm playing with Dan Hudson at Raw Canvas in Yaletown at 8PM; I'll play an out-of-town show down in White Rock on December 1st at 6PM; and then I'll be on CJSF's Melodies In Mind December 4th at 8PM to promote my complete lack of shows until the end of the year.

I've also been hard at work on the recording we keep hearing about.  We tracked the vocals and guitar for "Steady at the Wheel" last Thursday and man, does the mix sound good.  I'll be honest, it's tempting to throw it up on here to give you all a taste, but I can definitely say with a great deal of certainty that I'm excited, and therefore you should be, too.

Hopefully I'll see all your beautiful faces at the show on Friday!

I've been listening to a lot of John Roderick lately:

I'll sign off with the best regards ever regarded.

Ahhh, what a week!  Halloween, a radio interview, prep for a show...

...okay, actually scratch that last one.  For reasons entirely out of my control, the show on Friday was postponed to Friday, November 16th.  My apologies on the late notice - like I said, it was out of my hands.  The show on the 16th will be just as fun, and I'll rock twice as hard to make up for what's transpired this week.

On to happier news: the podcast from Tuesday's radio interview and performance is up at CITR!  You can pop over to their site for the full hour and a half mp3, or you can catch the juicy bits in the helpful Soundcloud digest I've prepared below!

Radio interview on CITR 101.9 FM - The Morning After Show - Oct. 30th 2012 by The Walk of Every Man
The bigger CFord fans out there will notice a lyrical stumble at the beginning of All These Ways - my guitar was atrociously out of tune and it threw me off of my game.  That's what happens when you retune a guitar in the middle of a live radio broadcast.  Lessons learned - next time, I'll play the song in the alternate tuning (SatW) last.  Not right in the middle.  Sheesh!

So, now it's on to the next big thing here - I'm in the studio next week to get another track (hopefully) all wrapped up to add to the stack!

I'll check back in with y'all next week.
